The Scholarship Program of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation (FES) is an initiative to promote young talent, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds but with excellent academic achievements and active participation in social activities, for the goals of freedom, justice, and social solidarity.
The FES was founded in 1925, with the initial aim of supporting talented young people from the working class who were actively involved in the nascent democracy of the Weimar Republic. Today, FES continues its mission to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed or will commit to social democracy.
